406 viewsthis is the first invoice / first bill of sale from general motors to the first owner. its signed by E.Brockman who i believe was one of the top brass at gm at the time. take note of the date of sale. it was Aug.15/1957. it took him three years to talk GM into selling him the car. you can see who the first owner was. i have talked with him in person and some of the stories he has about the corvette are incredable. if you have any questions feel free to email me at bruce@1954motoramacorvette.com i will be posting a current interview with the original owner of this rare corvette. he is the person that is responsible for saving this corvette!the interview is in the process as we speak feb 22/2008Feb 09, 2008

717 viewsfrt nose emblem has a flat plate and the studs have approx. 1/32 inch hole drilled through them with a cotter key to hold them in place. the only thing i can think of is that someone wanted them to be easily removed for cleaning and waxing of the car. I have been told by previous owners that the original hubcaps came with horn button emblems in the centre of the hubcap. This fact is confirmed by some of the GM styling studio pictures of the motorama corvette. Funny thing is, I bought some 1953 hubcaps off ebay that had the centres cut out of them . Interesting, anybody have any other ideals ? please email questions or answers to bruce@1954motoramacorvette.comJan 30, 2008

306 viewsThese are the trunk and conv. top hatch lid hinge assemblies. They appear quite different from stock ones, as they had to accept the first corvette hardtop and no soft top. This car never came with a soft top, but one owner tried to install a top from a 1957 at some time in its past. He was not successfull because of some of the modifications to the doors and windshield. More to follow on this topic some time down the road a bit.Jan 30, 2008
